"As they do every year before Christmas, the French elect a new Miss France. And with each election comes a new crown and its designer. For the 2014 edition, Julien d'Orcel was chosen once again, for the fifth consecutive year, to design the precious accessory.
Discovered on Saturday December 7, 2013, the famous accessory now adorns the hairstyle of the new Miss France, Flora Coquerel from Orléans.
Composed of white crystals for maximum sparkle, the crown was crafted in the French workshops of Julien Dorcel. Named "Oiseau de nuit" (Night Bird), the jewel features an animal theme and is designed to be feminine, elegant, and light. "It is a unique crown with a strong personality, designed to be in total harmony with the future French beauty queen," explains Julien d'Orcel, its creator, in a press release.
A member of the Synalia cooperative group, Julien d'Orcel defines itself as "today's jeweler". Bold and modern, the JULIEN D'ORCEL brand makes jewelry accessible to all, through quality service and a wide range of products, from traditional jewelry to costume watches. The jeweler is now present across France in over 160 points of sale.
